With nothing riding on the game, Lee Casswell rung the changes with next week’s play-offs in mind.
He handed run-outs to a number of fringe squad members resulting in the match taking on the feel of a pre-season friendly on a summers evening in front of a sparse crowd.
Niall Maguire had the first chance of the night having a shot well saved by Peter Fotko in the Vikings goal after 14 minutes.
Debutant Damon Rogers (pictured) opened the scoring on 31 minutes with a fierce strike on the half-volley which he smashed past the Vikings keeper.
Rogers almost found the back of the net again just before the break but he was denied by a fine point blank save from Fotko.
In the 47th minute Maguire had a header that when just wide and two minutes later Jordan Johnson had a powerful drive brilliantly pushed away by Fotko.
Ben Chapman was forced into a good low save in the 71st minute but he could do little about the Vikings equaliser three minutes from time.
A corner from the Blues right was swung in and headed home powerfully from close range by giant central defender Daniel Reilly.
