Lightcliffe u17s 67-10 lost to Northowram Fields 69-2 by 8 wickets

The loss of 2 senior players less than 30 minutes before the start of the match meant ultimately that this was not an balanced contest, but as always there were positives.
In truth both sides start the match 2 light and Lightcliffe started brightly against some slightly wayward bowling with Ben Whiteley flicking a trio of boundaries before receiving a good Yorker.
Bradley Atkinson batted steadily to support Josh Booth, but once the latter received another good leg stump Yorker to depart for 27 the innings stalled.
Humayun Nasser and Ben Mear hit a couple of solid blows, but the 67 total and the gaps in the field were never going to prove a serious challenge to the home XI.
A sharp throw from James Lunn allowed keeper James Bancroft create a run out (in slightly untidy fashion and Booth castled the incoming batsmen to put a gloss on proceedings with Fields 5-2.
Thereafter Bickle for Northowram hit some good shots to rocket to 53 and complete the match in quick time
