Lightcliffe Under 17s already a young side this season, and still missing players through injury, were shorn of an 11th man with a “no show” ; the gaps in the field this created when fielding were exploited by the home side.

The visitors gave a reasonable show with the bat where the ever improving Bradley Atkinson hit a stylish 30 (his best score at this level) and his partnership with Josh Booth (15) had the side in reasonable health at 55-1.

When both succumbed to soft full-toss deliveries, the innings declined, although there were some cameos from Humayin Nasser, Noah Hemingway and Anthony Ellwood.

Unfortunately in the field, the home side took advantage of inaccurate medium pace bowling and Lightcliffe failed to give there spinners a chance to test the dusty pitch, with the match drawing to a swift conclusion.
