Dynamo beat neighbours Quorn in this fast paced and entertaining second round Doodson Sort Cup game and although Dynamo had chances to put the game beyond Quorn’s reach they had to endure a nervy final five minutes.

From the kick off Dynamo took the game to the home side and were unlucky not to take an early lead, when Carl Sibson played a through ball for Jamie Clarke, whose shot, from a tight angle, beat Matt Nurse but struck the post. The game then went from end to end without either side creating anything note worthy until the twentieth minute when a loose ball from Dynamo was intercepted by Quorn, a quick pass released Kris Nurse but he hit his shot over the bar. Ash Way and Dan Henton then both had efforts for Dynamo that went wide of the target, before, against the run of play, Quorn took a thirty-fifth minute lead the lead. A Quorn attack ended in them winning a corner from which Aaron Hooton headed the ball into the net. Dynamo’s response was positive and they equalised four minutes later when Way played the ball wide to Blackwell who hit in a low cross and Clarke reacted first to tuck the ball into the net.

Within a minute of the restart Dynamo should of took the lead when quick passes from Clarke and Karl Noble released Way but his hurried shot flew wide of the target. Another Dynamo attack resulted in a corner, but Way again shot wide. Before a speculative cross come shot from Quorn almost caught Dynamo out, Kahil Mann-Kler misjudging the flight of the ball had to scramble to tip the ball over the bar. Quorn then had a period where they put Dynamo under pressure and which saw Dynamo’s defence stretched, but timely blocks from Danny Jenno and Sam Young prevented Quorn having shots on goal and the resultant corners were cleared, Stef Frost then hit a snap shot but the effort went over Dynamo’s bar, before a Quorn shot in crowded Dynamo penalty area resulted in claims for an handball, but the referee waved play on. Dynamo should then have taken the lead, when a quick ball forward resulted in Clarke holding off a challenge from Emidid Chiavetta but one on one with Matt Nurse his shot went wide of the target. The ext Dynamo attack resulted in a Noble shot being blocked for a corner that was cleared to the edge of the area Way thundering in a shot that struck Matt Nurse and Quorn cleared the loose ball. With fifteen minutes to go Dynamo took the lead, Scott Mooney, who had only just come on as a substitute, was fouled Noble taking a quick free kick released Blackwell who put in a cross which Mooney converted. With time running out Quorn threw everything into attack, winning a succession of corners and from one Sam Wood must have thought he had equalised but Mann-Kler produced a great point blank save to deny him.
