Late show does it

By Wayne Jones

Late goals for both 1st & Reserves victories.

It was the late late show for the 1st & Reserves sides this weekend that saw both earn good wins.
The 1st team travelled to AFC Hayes in Middlesex for their FA Cup tie and found themselves trailing to a Sekani McCalmon goal entering the last 5 minutes.

Frankie Johnson equalised on 87 minutes and with a replay beckoning Lewis Thompson scored a winner in added time to set up an away tie at Royal Wooton Bassett in the next round. The game will take place on Sat.Aug 25th.

Town's Reserve team kicked off their league campaign under the new management team of Dave Boughton, Kev Price & Johnny Brookes down the Rec against Bibury.
The game should have been out of sight in the first half when we missed a host of decent chances.
After the break the visitors could have easily taken all 3 points but they too were wasteful in front of goal.
With one goal looking to be enough to win it Lydney snatched it at the death.
Billy English tried a speculative effort from 20 yards that the keeper should really have dealt with.
The greasy ball slipped through his hands and came back off the crossbar where Ryan Dawson was on hand to volley home the winner. Arran Price was Man of the Match
