Acomb won the toss and still glowing from their 156 run win over Malton & Old Malton the previous Saturday opened with Hughes who has scored 98 the week before and Williamson. Hughes was a crucial wicket to take and the 20th ball of the innings saw Brian Underwood clean bowl him for 2 runs when there was just 9 on the board. Williamson [14] followed him back to the pavillion 3 overs later when he was caught by wicketkeeper Matt Beevers off the bowling of Natty Burge. Acomb lost 2 more wickets in the 3 following overs when Burton [3] was caught by Oliver Steels off the bowling of Burge and F Littlewood [5] was caught by Beevers off the bowling of Underwood to put Acomb on a worrying 32-4. Lennox and Jacques appeared settled and started to make the most of any loose ball adding 58 before both were dismissed in the 20th over, Jacques [13] and Lennox [48] both caught by Jamie Kirby off the bowling of Harry Collins. Crawford & Rawle struggled against the bowling of Collins & Malcolm Harrison adding just 14 to the board in 7 overs before Crawford[8] was the third catch of the day for Beevers off the bowling of Harrison putting Acomb on 104-7. Some quality fieldwork from Steels saw Harris [4] run out in the 30th over and Alex Barlow took a catch off the bowling of Harison to dismiss Rawle [8]in the 31st over. Preston had made 7 when he was caught and bowled by Collins when on 7, Woodworth finishing on 4 not out and the board reading 123-10 for Acomb.

In reply for Melbourne Liam Barlow & Ben Thompson got off to a good start with Barlow hitting the first ball of the innings for 6. However Williamson sent Barlow[17] back to the pavillion in the third over when he caught him off the bowling of Preston. With the board on 25 Thompson [5] was bowled by Preston. Steels was joined by Beevers and the two added a further 25 before Beevers [13] was caught by Woodworth off the bowling of Rawle in the 14th over. Steels and Collins complimented each other and both played some fine shots before Steels after making 34 including 3 sixes was caught by Hughes off the bowling of Burton in the 23rd over. In an attempt to stem the Melbourne batsmen Acombs opening bowlers returned to the frow and this saw Dave Coe dismissed for 8 when he was caught in the 29th over. Collins quickly knocked off the required runs and the 124 was acheived in 31.5 overs, Collins finishing on 29 not out and Alex Barlow on 1 not out.
