Second win for Mellor U13s

Great match v Norbury

A gorgeous sunny day for Mellor’s match v Norbury today in complete contrast to last year when it was driving snow!

Mellor made a flying start scoring 4 goals in the first quarter and 3 in the second quarter. Lola, in goal, barely saw the ball in the first quarter and made three excellent saves in the second quarter, resulting in a half time score of 7-0 to Mellor.

The second half saw some great defending from Katie, Beany, Amy and Alice, together with some cracking runs from Leia and Jasmine and many shots on goal which were saved by the Norbury keeper. More great saves too from Lola. Norbury scored twice in the second half, as did Mellor resulting in a final score of 9-2 to Mellor.

Great all round play today from all the girls. Ava was strong throughout, Eve excellent in her role as captain and the attacking team of Niamh, Millie, Ava and Leia were increasingly using good tactics around shape and space.
