Hunt for new manager begins

“I no longer feel I am taking the club forward” Steve Eastaugh

The club was shocked today when manager Steve Eastaugh resigned.

Eastaugh led the club through their two seasons at Step 4 following their promotion to the Isthmian League North Division in the summer of 2016. After finishing an impressive ninth in 2016-17 the club got off to a bad start last season and ultimately paid the price with relegation by just one point, but finished his reign with our first ever Norfolk Senior Cup triumph.

Despite relegation the club was looking forward to working with Steve at regaining promotion back to the Isthmian League and the chairman had already ageed the new seasons budget with him.

Eastaugh commented "I no longer feel I am taking the club forward and because of this the time is right to resign from my position as First Team Manager. I would like to thank all the players and staff past and present, and of course the Chairman, for their effort and support in what has been an enjoyable time. I wish them all every success for the future.

Eastaugh informed the players at today's first training session and the search for his replacement will now be a high priority with the first pre-season friendly just ten days away when the Planters take on Caister at their Allendale Road ground on Tuesday, July 10, 6.45pm kick-off.

The club would like to thank Steve for all his hard work and wish him all the best for the future.
