The Planters fell to a second consecutive defeat at Julius Martin Lane, going down by four goals to one.
After the Haringey reverse there were call ups for Shaun Wones, Adam Probert and Liam Jackson.
In a fairly even first half Ben Jones was the first to have a shot on goal but saw his effort from the edge of the area blocked.
The hosts threatened with Andy Wilton having to turn Matt Allan's shot from an acute angle behind for a corner, from the flag kick a Lewis Endacott header was cleared.
Adam Hipperson seized on a loose ball to take the ball into the area but saw his shot blocked, from the rebound Wones hit his long range shot wide.
The hosts took the lead eight minutes before the interval when a long ball across the pitch found Joe Carden on space in the right and he hit the ball across Wilton to nestle in the far corner.
Soham started the second half the stronger and it was no surprise when they doubled their lead after 55 minutes. Callum Russell found space on the left and crossed for Endacott to power a header back across Wilton.
Things went from bad to worse when eight minutes later Hipperson fouled in the box and Marcus Hall's penalty went in off the inside of the post.
Hipperson netted a consolation six minutes from time when he hit home a delightful free kick from 25 yards but the hosts had the last laugh with Allan heading home after Wilton had saved Peter Maina's shot in the final minute.
