Oban's first home game of the year was played out in glorious conditions at the Taynuilt sports ground. Callander chose to bat first on a lively wicket and lost wickets at regular intervals throughout their innings. Kay Khan bowled an excellent spell and was rewarded with the wicket of C. McLay. Opening partner R. Pearson was looking threatening before being removed by Kenny MacKenze, the Oban bowler luring the batsman into a stroke outside the off stump, only able to guide the ball into the slip fielders hands. Further wickets for Tristan Carre, Neill Belshaw, Andrew Leach and Jack Whiteley seen Callander finish their innings 97 all out.
Oban started the chase on the front foot, before Andrew Leach was caught at square leg, pulling a rising ball off the impressive C. McLay. Fellow opener K. Khan then edged a cracking delivery from young A. Parsons behind and was shortly followed by Mark Parry, departing lbw to R. Pearson. At 30-3 the match was finely balanced, before Jahed Ahmed and Jack Whitley seen Oban to the win, finding the boundary ropes with regularity to ensure a comfortable win for the home side.
