Cents fall at final hurdle

By Stan Fritchley

Cents win two out of three Combination finals.

Old Cents had a great day at the Combination finals winning two out of the three finals.
Cents won the Glanville cup for the first time in it's history when they avenged last seasons defeat against Coney Hill III'S.Cents won a close match 23-19 after being 19-6 down at half time.
Cents then went on to win the Junior cup ending a long string of Coney Hill wins dating back over 8 years.Cents won the match 22-12 and again they came from behind at half time, they were losing 9-12 and this was the fourth time Cents had won this cup in it's history.
Cents lost the Senior cup 5-6 against Coney Hill and they put in below performance against a Hill side who certainly looked like they wanted to win the cup more than our first's.Cents looked like they were going through the motions and they paid the price against a more commited Coney Hill side.I hope this was a wake up call for the first's as they will need to be a lot better than today if they are to win their play off match against Camborne next weekend.
Despite the first team losing, this was still a big day for the club and it was great to take the Junior and Glanville cups away from Coney Hill
