*** Coming Soon *** Kelly’s Sports Bar at Ossett Town AFC

By Neil Spofforth

Ossett Town are delighted to announce that over the next few weeks and months it's bar and clubhouse will be refurbished and re-branded.

Having recently appointed a new bar manager to oversee the functioning of the bar and facilities, investment is now being made into the clubhouse to improve the offer and facilities for our customers and visitors.

The first job will be to make the main function room our regular bar - it will still be available for functions, but will also become our regular Sports Bar.

The refurbished bar will be also be rebranded as Kelly's Sports Bar after our former U19 manager and Huddersfield Town scout Steve Kelly who sadly passed away in September 2013. Steve will be forever remembered at Ossett Town and this rebranding is a fitting tribute to a great man and brilliant football coach who loved Ossett Town.

The grand-opening of Kelly's Sports Bar will take place on 14th June to coincide with the England v Italy World cup game. The bar will open at 2pm that afternoon and will be a great place to watch the World Cup competition from that point on. The football club is at the heart of the community and we want it to be the first place you think about when you want to watch live sport or have a night out.

There will also be a new product range and special offers to coincide with the opening - watch this space.

As well as a new layout and re-decoration there will be sports memorabilia about the place, this is something we want to keep fresh so if you have something that you are willing to loan to us that will enhance the experience at Kelly’s Sports Bar please do come forward and speak to the bar manager, Andy Mathery, or any member of the club's committee.

When we have completed the Sports Bar, phase 2, also planned for 2014, will be to modernise the back room and toilet facilities and create a multi-purpose function room space and games area for children and young people using the clubhouse.

Should anyone wish to contribute to our work to refurbish the clubhouse - either through donating your time or materials - please do get in touch.
