SATURDAY 23RD APRIL 2016 - KICK OFF 3PM
PARKGATE FC 1 HT 1-0 STAVELEY MW FC 2
40 mins Joshua Moore 53 mins Mohammed Tijani Ibrahim
74 mins Reece Wesley (OG)
This was an opportunity to move away from the relegation zone ahead of next weeks visit to Bridlington Town. In the first minute John Lufudu fired wide of the far post as Parkgate seized the initiative. He also did the same again on 12 minutes, as the game saw Parkgate have the majority of possession. Josh Moore was next to come close on 24 minutes as his shot eluded the far post. Finally, Parkgate's dominance bore fruit on 40 minutes. Josh Moore intercepted a loose ball and calmly slotted home to open the scoring and send the Steelmen in at the break with a well deserved lead.
Staveley looked a different side in the second half, and were level on 53 minutes. Mohammed Tijani Ibrahim saw his effort hit the underside of the bar, and the Assistant Referee signalled a goal. For long periods Parkgate were outplayed by the visitors and were chasing shadows.
Parkgate went behind on 74 minutes when Reece Wesley headed the ball into his own net and the game was lost. The game saw Craight Laight given a straight red card on 88 minutes for Parkgate, who in the second half were lacking the spirit shown in their last few outings.
We now are at 18th position in the league, two places above relegation.
