A good run out for both sides....

Another warm summer's day (how we'll long for these times in a few months!) saw the Dumfries based side edge a competitive and even encounter. They also edged the post match drinking as well, as the Percy boys, fortified by sausage, chips and chilli, from the 'beer garden' disappeared into the sunset, while the Scots boys took in a bit of cricket over the hedge.

Percy Main's large squad was rotated throughout, giving all those game time and in the first half Ben Senior had a couple of attempts at goal, as The Main created little and failed to trouble the visitors goalkeeper unduly.

At the other end, Shaun Backhouse was powerless to stop Ian Anderson's 26th minute thunderbolt from 30 yards which gave Lochar the lead. Anderson was Lochar's main threat until he came off injured later on and it was a goal to grace any game.

Dan Chambers netted from a corner a minute after the restart, to level matters, but Brian Mattinson restored the visitors lead on 56 minutes with a free kick from just outside the area, which somehow crept in via the post.

Good luck to Lochar for the coming season, which starts on Saturday for them - maybe we'll head up there in a year's time?
