The lads travelled to Ystrad Mynach where they faced Risca United in this Welsh League Division Two Fixture
A small crowd on this Friday night was disappointing for such a good club as Risca United and this brings up the debate again with the FAW of the need for 250 seater stands when there were only 18 people in the stand on this evening
Those who didn't show up missed a cracker of a game which overall Pontardawe Town possibly deserved the 3 points but the points were shared
Pontardawe Town started brilliantly and in the first 15 minutes dominated the game with Tom Blizzard scoring after 14 minutes to give the lads a deserved lead. It could have been more when Declan Horgan-Evans went on an amazing run but just shot wide when he deserved a goal.
Risca started to get back into the game on their own surface in the second quarter and as the half came to a close a tackle by Town captain Craig Davies was deemed a penalty which allowed Lewis Hitchcock to equalise (HT 1-1)
Town were the better of the two sides in the second half as our hosts faded but chances came and went. On 60 minutes Town were awarded a penalty and up stepped the ever reliable Garry Taylor but he got a little under his strike and hit the bar.
With Risca getting more and more tired Town pressed hard but the winner never came and honours were even
