Rainworth MWFC entertained bottom club Asfordby FC today and had to play with ten men from the 61st minute in blustery conditions that didn’t help either side.
Bank Holiday and Rainworth are not good bedfellows, add April Fools Day and it becomes nothing more than a farce. Only five of Saturdays starters were available for the Bank Holiday fixture at Clipstone and how it showed.

Rainworth demonstrated to their fans in today’s match against Radford FC that they were up for the fight. It wasn’t pretty but the end result was worth the effort.
Sandiacre Town came to Kirklington Road six points clear of Rainworth, who sat bottom in a true ‘Six Pointer’. By the end of the evening the gap had been reduced to 3 points.
At half time Rainworth had done little to convince the travelling fans they’d get anything out of today’s encounter against Lutterworth Athletic. A half later they probably should have taken all three points.
Rainworth’s fight for survival continued Saturday when Saffron Dynamo were the visitors, despite a number of efforts by both sides, neither could find a finish in the tricky windy conditions.
