Report: REMYCA 0-2 Silsden

By David Brindle

First half double sees visitors take the spoils

First half goals from Daniel Illingworth and Laurence Sorhaindo left Litherland REMYCA pointless in their game against Silsden on Saturday.

The away side were the better team particularly in the first half and could have had more than two going into the break.

Illingworth got a touch on the ball before Stephen King could clear a Silsden free kick which bounced around inside the box.

Sorhaindo doubled their lead with a back post effort into an open goal after a brisk counter attack by Danny Forrest's men.

This came moments after REMYCA's best chance of the game - Dylan Scott forced Callum Jakovlevs into a diving save low to his right.

REMY followed that up with a corner, which Jake Connor kept alive at the back post and Stephen King fired over the bar.

Phil Stafford's men struggled in the first half, but improved in the second half but were unable to create enough chances to secure any points from the game.

Stafford and his side will look to bounce back from this defeat when they travel to Barnoldswick Town on the 8th January.

Starting XI:

Ben Morrow, Jake Connor, Jack Murphy, Ryan Dobson, Stephen King, Dylan Scott, Josh Hamilton, David Crist, Lennon Whewell, Colin Quirk, Liam Morris.

Subs:

Paul Foy, Jason McShane, Chris Tyson, Jamie Colbourn, Elliott Jones.
