Rhostyllen moved into the next round of the Welsh Cup with a convincing victory on Saturday. Olie Allman, Keiron Taylor and Niall Rooney all made there first start of the season in a 4-4-2 formation. It was the home side that started the brightest and took the lead on 11 minutes when a well worked corner was powered into his own net by the Llan player despite the whole sideline being convinced that it was scored by village defender Kurtis Prydderch. It was 2-0 to the home side on 18 minutes when a great through ball found Keiron Taylor one on one with the goalkeeper who looped the ball over him the ball in the underside of the bar and seemed to have hit the net already before fellow striker Matty Williams made sure. Llangollen pulled a goal back before half time when the forward, who looked offside, scored with a tidy finish.
2-1 Rhostyllen at half time.
The home side took control of the game on 58 minutes when Kieron Taylor got his second with a strike from the edge of the box that bounced over the keeper. The scoring was finished on 65 minutes when Matty Williams met a cross from wide to volley home.
LLangollen did get a late consolation goal with the game finishing 4-2.
That was it and the Village's Welsh Cup adventure was up and running.
Next up Mold Alex at home on Tuesday evening, 6:15pm kick off.
