A Rotherham squad bolstered by 4 players from Chapeltown went to a blustery Darton for the latest YYHL U16 Girls matches.
Sheffield had already withdrawn, so we were in a league of three, with Wakefield and Northallerton.

Rotherham 1 Northallerton 0

A scrappy first half against Northallerton ended 0-0, with GK Cerys keeping us in the match. We improved in the the second half and deservedly took the lead with a goal from Maisie, following a long through ball by Ellie that found Amelia. She laid the ball back to Maisie who crashed the ball in. This was the only score of the game.

Rotherham 2 Wakefield 0

We dominated the first half and were 2 - 0 up at the break, with both goals coming from penalty corners. The first was scored by Maisie who hit a top D strike . The second was a well worked corner, with Anna feeding the ball back to injector, Ellie, who score by the post.

By the second half, the rain and snow had taken it's toll and we had periods of scrappy play. Rotherham sat deeper absorbed the Wakefield pressure and came away with a 2 - 0 win.
