U19s: runners up in county finals

Well done to everyone today for the U19s Finals Day.

For those of you who weren't there...Shipton made 83 for 6 against Cumnor in the first game. Ben (28) and Lewis (18) put on ain important 43 for the third wicket. Three of the wickets were run outs trying to maximise the final total. Cumnor made 75 for 9 off their 20 overs thanks to good bowling from Freddie, Callum, Greg Lewis and Ben. As usual, excellent fielding from everyone. Special mention to Lewis (spectacular one handed effort), Jamie (important boundary catch) and Ruairi (2 good catches) for helping take wickets at important times.

We then played a powerful Horspath side in the final. Weather conditions limited this to 5 overs a side. Horspath made 70 for 1 off their 5 (!!). This was always a challenging total although when Charlie hit the first ball for 6 we began to
wonder. Anyway..... Shipton made 27-2 in the end.

Runner up this year but lots of potential for next season now for a very young squad.
