Shirebrook beaten by AFC Emley

ATT 105

The game was only minutes old when the first chance of the game fell to Declan Brewin but he failed to take the chance that fell to him with Shirebrook kept pushing to open the scoring with both Joe Naylor and Kieran Watson going close but the game burst into life in the 26th minute when Carter Widdowson made a perfectly timed tackle just outside of the box however the ref didn't see it that way and gave a penalty to the visitors and gave Widdowson a yellow card Lewis Dickinson stepped up and sent Saxby the wrong way to give the visitors the lead but it didn't last long as in the 28th minute Joe Naylor was blocked making a run into the box and the ref pointed to the spot Kieran Watson stepped up and leveled the scores as the half was drawing to a close Shirebrook were reduced to 10 men as Widdowson was given a second Yellow card by the ref however nobody in the ground bar the ref knew what the second card was for and the sides went in level at the break.

As the sides came out for the second half the man advantage started to show with Emley having a lot of the ball but failing to great many chances that was until the 63rd minute when Lewis Dickinson scored his 2nd of the game after ball rebounded off the bar into the path of Dickinson Shirebrook began to push forward looking to get back in the game but they were restricted to long shots that were well off target mid way through the half the ref had a chance to level the players on the pitch as Timmons was elbowed in the face but the ref bottled the chance to send him off and only gave a yellow card but as the game was coming to a close Emley wrapped up the 3 points when Sam Scrivens free kick from the far left found the bottom corner
