Shoreham youth players debut in Bostik league

Shoreham Youth Players, true progression & development

First game of the season brought Shoreham up against a very good and well drilled Eastbourne Borough side and the Shoreham boys being together for only just 3 weeks and a side built of players that have played in the lower leagues of Sussex Sunday and Mid Sussex, which is a massive step up to the Bostik League.
During the game Shoreham tried to limit Eastbournes attack as Shoreham were organised and were holding out to Eastbourne untill a silly foul on the edge of the box resulted in a free kick, and was put away giving Eastbourne a 1- 0 lead.
The next 40 mins we were limiting Eastbournes chances to long range shots with Shoreham also getting a couple of half chances and causing trouble from corners.
The last 5 minutes saw Shoreham give away a needless freekick which Shoreham failed to deal with and Eastbourne went 2-0 up with no time left for to make a come back.

All in all a great first game effort and Rob Boxhill (manager) was proud of the teams effort and the way they battled against a side that's been together alot longer.
Also two home grown Shoreham FC youth players Harry Prodger and Luca Slaney made their debuts in the Bostik league. Its great to see true progression for our youth players.
