Siddal RL Weekend Action

By Joe McCormack

Open Age & Junior Fixtures this weekend

Our NCL side take the long trip to Cumbria again on Saturday, to face Kells in a 2.30 pm kick off. Kells, like us, sit in mid-table, but tend to be hard to beat on their home patch. The lads will be buoyed by our victory last week over Grand Final winners Thatto Heath, but know they'll need to dig in to get anything out of the game. Any supporters who wish to travel up to support, Daz, Gareth and the lads should meet at the club at 8.30 am.

This season we have seen a number of our younger open age players making their first team debut and that list will be lengthened tomorrow as Aaron Metcalfe has been selected in the squad. Good luck to Aaron who has been in fine form throughout the winter season.

Our YML league campaign gets underway tomorrow. We couldn't have picked a more difficult opening to the defence of our crown than a visit to CWC Park from Batley Boys. Batley finished top of the table in the regular season, only to be beaten in the Play Offs by Beverley, who we in turn beat in the Final. Russ Holroyd takes charge of the team for the 2018 season. Please get down to CWC Park for the 2.30 pm kick off any support the boys.

Our Juniors are also in action over the weekend. Games at CWC Park are:

Saturday 14 April
Under 11s v Dewsbury Celtic 10.30 am
Under 12s v Lock Lane 11.30 am

Sunday 15 April
Under 7s v Featherstone 10.00 am
Under 9s Whites v Castleford Panthers 10.30 am
Under 16s v Stanningley 11.45 am

Good luck to all our teams including our junior teams that are travelling to away fixtures
