Weekend Action

NCL and YML teams on the road

Our two open age teams are on their travels on Saturday. The NCL team face Wigan St Patricks (2.30 pm) who last week had a convincing home win against Normanton Knights by 26-10. Away wins are always hard to come by in the Premier Division and the lads will have to perform to the standards they set in last week's win over Wath Brow to have any chance of picking up the points. The team is boosted by the return of skipper Byron Smith and Canaan Smithies also looks set to be passed fit after missing with an ankle injury last week.

Siddal will be boosted by the presence of a coach full of past players, who have chosen the St Pats game for their annual reunion. Please note this coach is full so if any past players who have their name down to travel can no longer make it, please let me know so I can free up your seat.

The YML team face another tough game at Batley Boys (2.30 pm), who finished last season as league leaders and have once again made a fine start to the season. Russ Holroyd will be hoping the lads can bounce back to form, after a couple of defeats in recent outings.

Junior action at CWC Park is as follows:

Sat 9 June
Under 10's v Cutsyke 10.30 am

Sun 10 June
Under 8's v Normanton 10.00 am
Under 7's v Kippax 10.20 am
Under 9's Blues v Normanton 10.30 am
Under 9's Whites v Birkenshaw 11.00 am

Good luck to all our teams in action this weekend, including our junior teams who are playing away.
