For the first half an hour Southam dominated and sat in the Evesham half, but the visitors defence held out
holding up hooker Charlie Gilkes and Jack Rumsey. On the half hour prop Matt Catterall drove forward on the Evesham 10m,
the ball was quickly recycled and spread back across the pitch with two long passes to wing Ali Thorpe. Thorpe still had
work to do as he stepped back inside, beat two defenders and went over for the try. As the half closed, Evesham were pressing hard, but spilled the ball on the Southam 10m and it was snapped up by full back Will Clarke, he shook off the tackle and won the foot race for a 60m try. Southam got the last word, after a fine kick chase by 2nd row Olly Tyrell, who caught the Evesham full back on their 22, supported by centre Charlie Munro, who forced the penalty for holding on, converted by centre Jon Lowden
HT 13 - 0
Evesham go the better start and drove down the blind through the forwards, they recycled twice to drive over for the try. Southam then got back in control and stayed in the Evesham half up to the half hour, but crucially failed to turn that possesion and position into points. Southam then lost concentration for five minutes as Evesham twice created an overlap on the blind and broke through. Clarke brought down both, but the Evesham support was in place to take both tries, the second was converted.
FT 13 - 19
As with other games this season, Southam had the opportunity to take the match, but could not quite just get over the line.
