Southend & Benfleet were crushed 9-0 by Canterbury on Saturday. The home side were outplayed by a clinical display from top of the division Canterbury. Despite the best efforts from player of the match Caitlin Meredith in midfield, Canterbury mounted challenge after challenge. By loading their attack Canterbury kept the goals coming and S&B were 4-0 down at half-time. However, it got worse in the second half and a red-faced Southend & Benfleet side were relieved when the final whistle blew and it was all over. A match to forget for them. The team now face a bumpy ride to the end of the season as they sit third from bottom.
