Norfolk 10s Tournament

Held at North Walsham 30th September 2018

15 lads attended the Norfolk 10 tournament and enjoyed a fun-packed morning of rugby with five 12 minute matches on half pitches, all reffed by new volunteer Norfolk Society referees.

Match 1 v Beccles, WON 5-0
Playing against familiar opposition we started confidently. Two tries by Max, one for Savile and two from new recruit Oscar F.

Match 2 v Bury, LOST 2-5
In contrast to the first game, against unfamiliar opposition we sat back and allowed Bury to dictate the game, too often given them space to let their dangerous runners attack, rather than close down their time and make the tackles. Their wing was particularly quick and evasive, however Louis scored a super interception and Max got one straight from a restart.

Match 3 v Crusaders, WON 4-2
Crus started powerfully and went two ahead by making the most of some barging runs from their giant prop. However after waking up and realising we had to move the ball around, Savile bagged a hattrick and Oscar F got another flyer down the wing.

Match 4 v North Walsham, DRAW 4-4
Probably the best match of our day and one that could easily have been a win had we not missed a couple of tackles. With better opposition we played with much better shape, Max getting another two along with Oscar F and Raife.

Match 5 v West Norfolk, WON 4-2
For the last game we made a raft of substitutions so everyone could get a final taste of the day. Max got another brace while Savile and Raife also scored.

Player of the day - Oscar F for some great runs and quality cover tackles.
