Hi All

You may already be aware that the SMOB men's senior squad secured a place in the playoff to hopefully gain promotion up to Western Counties level, after an impressive 27-53 win over a strong Frampton Cotterell side.

It's likely we will either be playing Oldfield rfc or Wiveliscombe rfc away on Saturday 29th April 2017.

The support we have received this season from all club sections has been excellent and I know it has lifted myself and the other players immensely. It currently looks like we will be handed an away fixture due to our slightly lower win percentage. An away win at this stage and level is slightly harder to gain than if we were drawn at home.

The club's support could really be the difference on the day . I am proposing we get as much club support as possible on the day to hopefully help the lads bring promotion back home.

I am proposing we get as many SMOB supporters to attend the game to turn the game into a home game for ourselves and be our 16th man!

I have many coach firm contacts and could obtain quotes to carry supporters both to and from the game. The cost would be divided between travelling supporters and supporters would be expected to cover costs.

Could you please forward to all possible supporters from all sections and obtain possible attending numbers for coach travel by 22nd April, by which time we should know where and who we will be playing, I can then obtain quotes .

Hopefully if selected I will be playing in the playoff game so I am looking for someone to manage the project on my behalf, so if anyone is interested please let me know??

It should be a great day for the whole club!

Many thanks for your support and time.

Impavidus.

Regards

Marcus Jenkins.

On a personal note, I am delighted with the progress of the senior side over the last few months. With many of our younger players stepping up and gaining confidence in their ability, the 1st's now have a self belief that wasn't there at the start of the season. Games which would have been lost are now won. Well done to all concerned in producing a very impressive season.
