A tough 3 points were earned away at a battling and young Saltash side, even though reduced to 10 men on 25 minutes they pushed us until the end.
We took an early lead when Robbie Green broke away down our right and fired in an unstoppable shot beating the keeper at his near post.
On 25 minutes the dynamic of the game changed when a Saltash midfielder got himself sent off for lashing out after a solid tackle.
This didn't stop the youngsters from trying and they scored a great equaliser as we failed to respond to an attack and the Saltash player curled in a beauty from the right hand side of the box with left foot in to far left corner past the outstretched Chris Andrews.
Half time: Saltash United 3rds 1 - 1 St Minver 1sts
In to the 2nd half and we had plenty of attacking possession but we were unable to breach a stubborn defence. On 70 minutes we made a tactical change moving Ted Meagor in to midfield and Mike Green coming on at CB.
This immediately paid dividends as Ted Meagor won the ball strongly in midfield, fed Steve Wootton who fed the through run of Corey Cleave who finished clinically in to the bottom left corner.
We continued to attack in numbers and come the end also had to defend strongly and put our bodies on the line to maintain our lead.
A satisfying victory in the end with another hard 3 points earned.
