The home side got back on level terms when Jon Arnold beat three players on the outside before being hauled up but John Borthwick was on hand to take the offload and dive over the line. Norton converted well 10-10.

Veseyans came out strongly for the second period but Tamworth defended well and managed to restrict them to a 54th minute penalty 16-20.
It was on a rare visit to the visitors 22 that Tamworth got their nose in front for the first time in the game some strong work from Jamie Lawrence allowing Dean Guy to get the final touch 21-20.
Another twist was yet to come as it looked that Tamworth had just to see out the last couple of minutes the referee seemed to find far more stoppage time than anyone could remember and played a Wayne Barnes style 7 minutes extra and the visitors took full advantage and scored a last ditch converted try to take the points at the death. No one would argue it was probably a fair result but it was still heartbreaking for the Tamworth players to lose in such a manner.
