A controversial game saw Stapenhill having a battle not only with Teversal, but the match officials picking two red card and three cards. It was the host who picked up the benefit of the Referee’s decision, but no complaints from Teversal as a 5th minute slightly missed time challenge by Gregory on Austin was enough for the Referee to award a spot kick. Dawkins stepped up to send Turton the wrong way but effort hit post to go across goal before going out for a goal kick.
On 37 minutes Teversal took the lead when Luke Bacon cross to the back stick saw a thunderous volley by Dave Cockerill that took keeper Gough and the ball over the line. But the visitors failed to maintain the lead and on 42 minutes it was 1-1 Gregory defensive header dropped to Dawkins who produced an excellent effort from 20 yards into bottom corner to level.
In added on time Stapenhill had a corner and a goal to take a lead into the break when the delivery to the far post found Martin to drill effort into top corner to make it 2-1.
Teversal came out fighting and took control of the game being rewarded on 50 minutes when Coulson was adjudged to have handled the ball from Wilkinson clever back-heeled effort. Dave Cockerill finished with a confident spot kick. The victory was secured when on 72 minutes when Rumin received a straight red card for his rash challenge on Sargent, another penalty and Dave Cockerill again clinically finished to claim his first hat trick of the season and away win for the Tevie Boys.
