On a flat track with the ball not coming on, both sides found the initial going difficult. Opener Rogers looked set for a big score until dismissed by S Brewer with a sharp stumping off Russ Golding bowling leg spin. At the twenty over point the visitors had the upper hand restricting Shalford to 63 although A Lidster was batting carefully against some accurate bowling. In the last 10 overs the home side were launched a fine response and ended with what seemed to be a good score.
After tea it was one way traffic for Waverley as Russ Golding sprang a one man onslaught and would surely have secured his maiden ton but for the emergence of Simon Brewer at No 4 who soon took on the bowling enabling the travelling side to win in 21 overs.
