Tough game for the U13s against Royals Reds

A strong start but one that couldn't be maintained...

The U13's match on Monday night was a tough game against some great opposition. In the early moments of the game, the team gave Royals a bit of a shock taking a quick lead with the two opening goals but from then on it got trickier!

The squad put in a great effort. There was some excellent play in defence in particular in the second half of the match with the defenders not letting the opposition GS get near the post, but their speedy GA made up for this and we found it difficult to stop her getting to post. But, any slight error from the attack meant that our defenders picked up balls and turned them over.

Centre court struggled with a physical opposition but in the second half found their confidence to step up to their opposition. A switch between shooters at half-time opened up the court for Vandals with Libby showing great movement around the circle and Lizzie providing strong options moving out of the centre third.

All in all, a tough game but a good experience. Lots to work on, but some great moments too. Well done girls.
