Heath kick off and a Yarnbury mistake puts them immediately under pressure from an attacking lineout when they take the ball back into their 22 and kick directly into touch. However, Yarnbury regather the ball from the lineout and work their way into Heath territory. After 5 minutes of play Heath are penalised when offside after kicking from their 22. Yarnbury elect for a scrum and go on the attack. Initially the Heath defence remains strong, not over committing numbers at the breakdown, but as play is stretched from one side to the other gaps begin to appear. Penalty advantage is played following a high tackle and with an overlap formed out wide, Edward Green is able to go over in the corner. The difficult conversion is missed; Yarnbury 5-0 Heath.
Yarnbury continue to apply pressure with a good break into the Heath 22 by Jack Brownridge and Matt Schofield but Heath are let off when Yarnbury are penalised for entering the ruck at the side. They are soon back on the attack though and in the 14th minute a quick break by Maxwell Lee down the wing sees an inside pass to Alex Koppany to cross and run round behind the posts to score. 6 minutes later Oscar Andrews spots a gap in the defensive line to break through and score near the posts. Both tries are converted by Maxwell Lee; Yarnbury lead by 19.
A mistake by Yarnbury at the restart sees Heath win possession in the Yarnbury half. A missed tackle sees one of the Heath backs break the defensive line and evade the covering defenders to score. The difficult conversion is completed. 2 minutes later James Longhawn wins a penalty in front of the posts on the Heath 22 line. A quick tap by Oscar Andrews puts Yarnbury on the front foot and an attack by Edward Green that commits two tacklers, sees him offload to Jacob Rawson to score in the corner. The conversion is missed but after 24 minutes the score is Yarnbury 24-7 Heath.
In the 28th minute Ruiari Daly steals a Heath lineout but Yarnbury knock on when the ball goes to ground. However they win the resulting scrum against the head. Winger Jacob Rawson is released but is stopped by a high tackle and with penalty advantage, Carter Proctor drives through 3 or 4 defenders to score. The final play of the half sees a good break by Jack Brownridge that is stopped just short of the line. As the ball is recycled, Oscar Andrews steps through the defensive line and releases Edward Green for his 2nd try. The final kick of the half sees the try converted by Maxwell Lee. Half time Yarnbury 36-7 Heath.
From the restart, a Heath mistake results in a scrum for Yarnbury inside the Heath 22. A quick turn of pace sees scrum half Maxwell Lee break clean through the defensive line, score under the posts and then convert his own try. Yarnbury continue to have territorial dominance and after 10 minutes a try looks inevitable, playing advantage following a high tackle on Jacob Rawson, but Yarnbury’s final pass is knocked-on. Play is brought back for the penalty and Yarnbury kick for the 5m lineout. Ruiari Daly makes a clean catch and shifts the point of attack for the driving maul to allow hooker, Sam Brown, to score. The conversion is missed; Yarnbury 48-7 Heath.
Later in the half a clearance kick by Heath is collected by Oscar Andrews who attacks down the wing. His kick and chase nearly results in another try but he is adjudged to have knocked on in the grounding. The continual pressure eventually tells in the 17th minute when Ruiari Daly scores. He follows up with a 2nd try in the 31st minute after good play by Yarnbury in holding up a maul and winning the scrum in the Heath 22. Joe Birchall is stopped just short of the line but Ruiari Daly is in close support to gather the ball and dive over. The final minutes of play see Heath on the attack and they get within 2m of the try line but Yarnbury turnover the ball and in trying to kick for touch the ball goes over the dead ball line and the final whistle is blown. Full time; Yarnbury 60-7 Heath.
