Fullstack Web Developer (PHP)

Level: Mid to Senior

We're looking for a highly motivated, self-starting problem solver to help us expand into new territories and continually improve our product. Over 4 million users visit the Pitchero platform each month via our responsive websites or mobile apps.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders inside and outside of the department to fully understand sprint task requirements
  • Deliver high quality software solutions to a wide range of technical problems

Skills required

  • Minimum 2 years in a professional development / software engineering role
  • Ability to take ownership of the entire lifecycle of a sprint task from development and testing through to deployment
  • Good working knowledge of distributed version control (we use Git)
  • Good working knowledge of PHP5/PHP7 and at least one major PHP framework (e.g. Laravel, Symphony etc)
  • Good working knowledge of CSS
  • Good working knowledge of Javascript
  • Working knowledge of SQL (we use MySQL) and ORM systems (e.g. Eloquent, Doctrine)
  • Awareness of the full http lifecycle, from client request through to response including HTTP status codes
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills

Bonus skills (nice-to-have)

  • Working knowledge of a CSS preprocessor (e.g. SASS / LESS)
  • Working knowledge of composer and package management within PHP
  • Experience with other programming languages in a professional environment (e.g. Ruby, NodeJS)
  • Experience with other relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with other database & caching technologies (e.g. Memcached, Redis)
  • Awareness of REST principals related to API development
  • Experience working within an agile development environment

Customer Service Administrator

Salary: OTE of £15,000

Location: Leeds, WF17 9TB

Pitchero, the UK’s leading sports website service, is looking for a passionate and motivated customer support administrator to join our growing team.

The role

No two days at Pitchero are the same. With over 12,000 customers across the globe, your role will be to provide exceptional online support to clubs and participants who use the awarding winning Pitchero club website service. An example customer is a volunteer club official,who needs help updating their website or setting up a new online payment product. Your job is to guide them through this process. Most support will be provided by email and online chat, with some telephone support. The role requires no previous knowledge of Pitchero or website building tools. You will be trained and supported by a fantastic team.

  • Provide fast and accurate support to customers via email, online chat and telephone calls.
  • Write clearly
  • Speak with clarity and authority
  • Become a brand champion for Pitchero!

Skills required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence

  • This is a full time role, however we would consider flexible / part-time hours, subject to terms and candidate

Junior Graphic Designer - Summer Cover

Salary: OTE of £18k+

Location: Leeds, WF17 9TB

Period: June - September 2016

Pitchero, the UK’s leading sports website service, is looking for a creative and energetic junior graphic designer to join the team over the summer season.

The role

The junior graphic designer will be integral to the design team at Pitchero. Working directly with the marketing and development team, you will provide support across a broad range of design projects. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with tight deadlines, creating a variety of digital artwork including websites, emails and banners. From time to time you will be required to design and create posters, flyers and company merchandise. This is a busy, hands-on role where experience and skill at working in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator is paramount.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • To create awesome and engaging digital artwork for Pitchero clients
  • To support the marketing team with ad hoc design projects, including email, banner advertising, posters and print advertising.

Skills required

  • Excellent Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator skills
  • A good understanding of website design and responsive UI
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and the ability to work to a tight deadline
