Frontend Web Developer - Position Filled
Mobile Developer
As a Pitchero Mobile Developer, you'll work alongside the development team and focus on expanding our existing platform into the mobile domain. We're looking to hire intelligent, fast learners with skills that compliment those of our existing team.
Required Skills - Technical
- Previous experience of building iPhone or Android applications
- Standards compliance and optimisation for multiple platforms
- Previous experience of connecting mobile applications to web-based APIs
Bonus Skills - Technical
- Comfortable using Git for version control
- Contributed to an open source project
Required Skills - General
- 3 years professional experience as a Web or Mobile Developer
- Self-motivated and ambitious
- A good understanding of sports statistics and terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Bonus Skills - General
- Startup experience
- Involvement in team based sport

Work Placements
The successful candidates will enjoy an excellent team environment, competitive remuneration, regular staff trips and an opportunity for international travel.
The placements will be based in Leeds, lasting 12 months, starting summer 2012.
Placement 1: FOOTBALL Network Manager
Placement 2: RUGBY & CRICKET Network Manager
Placement 3: NETBALL & HOCKEY Network Manager
Ideal degree programme: Marketing, PR, Media, Journalism, Business and Management.
Pitchero has over 400,000 registered members. Your role will be to communicate with these members on a daily basis, increasing member interaction, answering user questions, creating and editing a community blog and promoting the community to non users.
This would be an ideal placement for students wanting ‘start-up’ or online marketing and sports media experience. The successful candidate requires excellent written and communication skills and a strong knowledge of team sports.
Basic knowledge of HTML would be a bonus but NOT essential.
Placement 4: Junior Web Developer
Ideal degree programme: Multimedia, Web Design, Computer Science
Pitchero powers over 8,000 sports websites, attracting 2 million unique users per month. Your role will be to assist a team of experienced web developers with upgrades and new feature development.
This would be a great opportunity to improve coding skills and gain real world experience in a fast growing company.
The successful candidate requires a solid understanding of HTML and CSS, strong design skills and a good working knowledge of Photoshop. A basic knowledge of PHP would be a bonus but not essential.

Pitchero is a top 20 UK football website and a top 5 global rugby website reaching two million unique users each month.
Pitchero’s primary service is to provide semi professional and amateur sports clubs, leagues and county organisation with free tools to build websites and manage their membership online.
In the last 12 months, Pitchero interns have travelled to trade shows at the NEC Birmingham and Kansas City USA.
