Redruth v Rams RFC
Saturday 1st December 2018 – Kick-off 2pm
Referee: Benjamin Russell.
Assistant Referees: Ian Pengelly & Grant Mossford.
On Saturday the Reds welcome Rams RFC (formerly Redingensians) who make their first trip to Redruth since their name change, Bert Viner (our PA Announcer) being very grateful for their decision to shorten their name! The Rams visit the Rec as league leaders having almost swept aside all comers this season, their only defeat an 18-10 reverse at Old Albanian. Their man with the boot is Alex Seers with 77 points to his name and the top try scorers are Jack Rossiter and Ben Henderson both with 8 (these statistics do not take into account last weekend’s match). Last weekend the Rams kept their juggernaut rolling with a big win over Worthing by 41 – 12.
For the Reds, top try scorers so far are Ben Fox and Jack Oulton with 4, Arron Simmonds leads the way with the boot on 69 points. The Reds will come into this game in fine spirit following the last gasp game saver against Bury St. Edmunds and then a fantastic 14 – 12 win away to Barnes, Aaron Simmonds excellent kicking being the difference between the sides. This win was even more impressive when you realise the Reds were down to 14 men for much of the 2nd half.
Last season the home team claimed the win in both fixtures; the Reds winning the first encounter 25–19 and then Rams getting their revenge with a 21-12 victory in the return.
Come on you Reds.
