Glossop North End travel to Chasetown this coming Saturday in an Evo-Stik West fixture which will prove an important game for both sides. GNE head into the match in good form after having seen off Market Drayton Town last saturday in the league, and followed this up with a character building performance at Alfreton Town on Tuesday night in which the Hillmen eventually losing out 5-4 on penalties in the Derbyshire Cup. GNE will be hoping to build on this momentum created under the new management team.
Managers Pete Band & Lloyd Morrison have a couple of selection issues in need of sorting, both Jason Hill and Josh Stachini were forced off with injury at Alfreton on Tuesday night, it remains to be seen weather they will be fit enough to return to the starting XI. Kane Hickman made an impressive debut in midfield at Alfreton off the bench in the second half, and could be handed his first start since re joining from Buxton last weekend.
Chasetown go into the game sitting in 19th in the league table and are still yet to win a home fixture in the league. One win from 13 games and the second worst defence in the division is no way near their potential and will come out fighting no doubt. Its a game that neither side can afford to take lightly. Chasetown will be encouraged by their last league fixture on Saturday, where their hosts Colwyn Bay had to come from behind to eventually run out 4-2 winners. Midfielder Will Whieldon already has 4 goals for the season for Chasetown, he and centre forward Muzzy Nduna will be a constant threat for GNE along with attacking midfielder George Cater.
