Glossop North End travel to Leek Town tonight in a third straight away fixture in 7 days for the Hillmen. GNE will be looking to build on the momentum they have created having been unbeaten in the last 2 league games. Although the management team will be working hard with the squad to revive the confidence and style of play shown in recent games after GNE made it difficult for themselves on Saturday at Chasetown, having to come from behind to snatch a 2-2 draw at the death.
Pete Band & Lloyd Morrison have a relatively fresh squad available for selection, Adam Latham was substituted off on Saturday with a knock and could be 50/50 if he is available for tonight's fixture. GNE could hand a debut to new signing, midfielder James Georgaklis. James took a place on the bench on Saturday at Chasetown but didn't get to feature in the game. Kane Hickman was away for the game on Saturday and is still yet to make his first start for GNE since re-signing from Buxton. Sam Howell will be eager to gain his first start for GNE after making a couple of appearances from the bench against Market Drayton & Chasetown.
Leek Town go into this fixture lying 14th in the league table with up to 4 games in hand on some of the teams around them. Their current position in the table is deceptive to their competitiveness in the league this season, with Leek only conceding 7 goals in the league so far this season and possessing the best defensive record of any team in the division. GNE will have to work hard to break the hosts down. Leek Town's last two league games have both ended in defeat against stern opposition in the form of high flyers Atherton Collieries and Runcorn Linnets. So the hosts will be looking to get back to winning ways. Striker Aaron Bott is proving to be a prolific goalscorer for Leek after arriving with them in September from Newcastle Town. Jordan Johnson is another striker in form for the hosts, with Rob Stevenson will provide attacking opportunities from out wide.
Speaking about this upcoming fixture on Saturday, GNE joint manager Lloyd Morrison said, ''Tuesday will be a totally different game to Chasetown. Leek play good football with Neil, their manager. Me & Pete have known Neil for a long time, he has a certain way of playing football, but hopefully we can go there and get a result''.
