Knaresborough welcome Hallam to Manse Lane this Saturday after 3 consecutive away games. We go into the game on the back on 2 excellent, hard fought victories against Garforth Town in the FA Vase and Retford in the league. Saturday’s victory against Garforth was a great win especially after surrendering a 2 goal lead in injury time. Ben Cohen and Blaine Hobson had put us 2-0 up at half time. Things were made difficult after Simon Parkes sending off but the team showed fantastic spirit and got the reward when Gregg Anderson scored the winner in extra time. The win at Retford was just as good a win and the 3 points could be extremely vital come the end of the season. We battled hard and kept our 8th clean sheet in a row in the league. Will Lenehan got the winner with a great header from a corner.
Hallam currently sit in 9th place with 7 wins, 2 draws and 5 defeats from their opening 14 games. They have been inconsistent this season but have had a couple of good wins in their last two matches. A 3-0 home win against Ollerton was followed by a 3-2 win against a strong Grimsby Borough side. Hallam boost the top average attendance in our division with an average of 181 so hopefully a good travelling support will boost the crowd at the weekend. Their top scorer this season is Mitchell Dunne with 12 goals in all competitions.
