The Wellmen face another team on Saturday which were relegated from the Welsh Premier League at the back end of last season as Airbus Broughton make the short journey down the A55 to Halkyn Road.

The Wellmen will be looking to get back to winning ways after last week’s fixtures against Rhyl and Flint Town United where both matches ended all square. Holywell Town will have been made up with the manner they turned the game around against Rhyl, winning a point after being 2 goals down at half time, but the Wellmen would have been disappointed to have let go of the lead against neighbours Flint Town United at midweek.

Manager John Hasledin can recall Defender Matty Harvey back into the squad after he was forced to sit out Wednesday’s game through suspension following his sending off last weekend against Rhyl. Haseldin also welcomes back Jack Pennington who’s been away on holiday, and Jon Jones is fully fit and added to the squad. Sam Jones is also available and added to the squad. Town however will be without Matty Kendrick.

Our visitors have not found it all easy going since their relegation into the Huws Gray Alliance. They won their opening game against newcomers Llandudno Junction by a goal to nil before suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat at Queens Park. The Wingmakers returned to winning ways midweek with a 3-2 victory over Gresford Athletic. Their squad is full of quality with names such as Mark Jones, Wes Baynes, Alfons Fosu-Mensah and Steve Tomassen to name a few, and the Wellmen will have to be on their best against Saturday’s visitors to claim the victory.

The match kicks off at 2.30pm and the club have been appreciative of the Wellmen’s support during the past couple of games, and hopefully a good turnout of supporters will make it to Halkyn Road on Saturday to act like the 12th man and cheer the lads to victory.
