It's not the best time to be welcoming a team just four days after they have beaten you 5-0 but that's how the fixtures cookie has crumbled. We have the players and management to put in a much better performance than we did on Tuesday so will be hopeful of an improvement on Saturday.
I know Anwar wants to field unvaried line-ups as much as possible so the absences on Tuesday will have been a disappointment to him. How he deals with the returning players and their place in Saturday's squad will be one of the interesting factors surrounding this particular match. Before that, Thursday's training will presumably be concentrated on the weaknesses exposed by the defeat.
Brightlingsea will want to carry on where they left off in midweek. Their win took them level on points with Maldon & Tiptree at the top of the table though their goal difference, even after Tuesday, is inferior. On the plus side they have a game in hand but will hope for a win at Wodson Park that will be matched by defeat or a draw for Maldon at Bury Town.
The programme for the match (£1.50 on the gate) will include a history of Brightlingsea Regent and pen pictures of their players. From the Ware point of view "Tractor Tales" will include Aiden's take on Tuesday's game whilst "Past Programmes No 103" gives a nod to Sutton United and their FA Cup achievements this season by taking a repeat look (originally number 73 in the series) at our last visit to Gander Green Lane.
