The 1st XV open their league account for 2018-19 with a long away trip to Ash RFC. Ash is village nestled on the periphery of Sandwich and it will vital that 'Bridge shake the long journey out of their legs quickly as their opponents enjoyed a very successful season last year.
Ash RFC enjoyed 'promotion' to Late Red 3 at the end of last season and were competing in Cinque 4 East last season. They topped their league with 15 wins from 18 and a hugely impressive points difference of 437 so this weekend is going to be a real test for Edenbridge.
Last weekend they hosted Thanet III at Queens Road and came away 19-12 winners so are off to a confident start to the season. 'Bridge also enjoyed their first run out last weekend with a pair of decent performances against surprisingly strong opposition so although there were not the results, there are certainly grounds for optimism.
Kick off in East Kent is at 3.00pm and if any hardy souls fancy a long trip to (nearly) the East Kent Seaside, you can find Ash's ground at The Sports Pavilion, Queens Road, Ash, Kent, CT3 2BG
