Lookers sponsored South Shields Westoe are back in action after a two-week break from the league. The fixture has been swapped from away to home to avoid the need for hiring Harton comp at the end of the season when the cricket take over Wood Terrace.
Recent form and previous meetings would suggest that this should be a win for the Westoe side; however the league has proven that form book often counts for little within the league with many unexpected results throughout the table.
Westoe welcome back Captain Andy Kirton and Sean Ramsay at No.8 and Blind-side. Together with Joe McKenzie they will cause Gosforth issues around the breakdown and be a constant threat in attack.
The backline sees changes yet again. Player-coach Chris Judson returns to scrum-half, Louis Hagan moves into centre for Zach Clark and Jamie Preston and Richard Burrows come in on the wings.
Daniel Irving comes onto the bench alongside Player-coach Graeme Smith and Haydn Richards.
It’s become a cliché to state that this is a must-win game; however with Westoe now sitting in fourth spot in the league, they need to finish strong to secure one of the top two spots.
West Nautical sponsored Development Team play against Mowden Park in a top of the table clash in the Candy League.
