Farsley Celtic will be looking to bounce back from Tuesday’s humiliation at Altrincham as they welcome Barwell to Throstle Nest. The two sides met last season in the FA Trophy with Farsley, then in the Evo-Stik Division 1 North, winning 3-2 thanks to goals from Paul Walker, Alex Davidson and Lewis Nightingale.
Farsley will be desperate to get back to winning ways tomorrow and make Tuesday’s 6-0 defeat against Altrincham a distant memory. Prior to that, Farsley had won back-to-back games as they defeated Grantham Town (3-0) and Halesowen Town (3-1). Despite Tuesday’s setback, Farsley will be looking to recapture their form from their excellent start to the season which saw wins against Coalville Town (3-1), Halesowen Town (2-1), and Rushall Olympic (1-0), whilst they secured draws against Ashton United (1-1), and Lancaster City (0-0). Nathan Turner was welcomed back into the Farsley squad on Tuesday following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, however Jordan Deacey will be a doubt. Jimmy Pollard and Adam Clayton will also miss the game due to suspension.
Barwell have had a mixed start to the season and currently sit in 12th position after 10 games. Barwell head into the game following a much-needed 2-1 win over Matlock Town, with Matt Stenson and Owen Story in the goals. Prior to that, Barwell had lost three consecutive games against Altrincham (3-1) and Stourbridge (2-1) in the league, and AFC Telford United (2-0) in the FA Cup. Midfielder Nathan Edgington will be in contention to make his first appearance after re-signing for Barwell this well following an injury layoff.
The game takes place on Saturday at Throstle Nest, postcode LS28 5BE. Kick-off is at 3pm and admission prices are just £8 adults, £5 concessions and £1 U16s. See you there!
