The Morley v Sandal fixture has always been one to watch as long-established local rivalries come to the fore. Both teams have had tough starts to the season neither registering any wins. However, Morley have 0 points and sit bottom of the league, whilst Sandal occupy 12th courtesy of the the 2 losing bonus points gained in our first match against Preston.
Morley have only scored 38 points this season, conceding 108; we have scored more (50), but also conceded more (116) giving us a slightly better points difference. We sit alongside Pocklington & Birkenhead Park and 4 behind Kendal & Billingham who have 6 points each.
Needless to say, this is an important match as we need to start to impose our game on opposition teams and get back to winning ways. To be honest, we've faced 3 of the toughest sides in the league and though the results are disappointing, the team are positive and we have had a good week training, further refining how we intend to play.
As always, the match will be reported live on Twitter @sandalrufc with the occasional live feed of the match (signal permitting). There have been some really positive reviews and comments on the match day coverage and these are greatly appreciated. Lets hope they can bring news of a much needed win.
So, off to Scatchard Lane we go.
Onwards!
