Sandal go into this match on the back of a superb performance against Ilkley. All across the park, the team dominated their opponents and were clinical when opportunities arose. The key now is to put two performance together to kick start our season.
Sandal now sit 11th, but have a 6 point cushion to Pocklington. There is only an 8 point difference between Ilkley and ourselves, so the mid-table is starting to look congested. This makes the win even more essential to create space from other teams.
Wirral have won 3 and lost 3 this season, sitting 9th in the table. Last time out in the league, they were beaten by Billingham 37-28 on Billinghams AGP pitch, though last weekend they beat Lymm in the Cheshire cup. However, both sides saw many changes from their league selections. One win was against Harrogate 51-28, which was described as a great performance. This result highlights that this weekends fixtures will be tough.
Last season, each side won their home fixtures. Sandal losing 33-23 away but winning 35-24 at home.
