The 1st XV are hitting the road again and heading Northwards up the M6 into deepest Cumbria to face Wigton. The sides met very early in this seasons campaign and MV pushed the Cumbrians hard at MacPherson Park losing out eventually 27-32. Wigton have gone on to have a strong season pushing the leaders from 4th position whilst MV have had a really competitive season but have just been on the wrong side of too many close results. Both sides enter the game on the back of good wins with Wigton having beaten Fleetwood 44-10 and MV overcoming Upper Eden 47-12.
MV are taking a strong side and recent confident form suggests a good game should be on the cards. The weather should make it a good day for players and spectators alike.
MV's 2nd XV rule the roost at home as the 3rd XV have no fixture. Rochdale 3rds are the visitors and MV must really look to add to their recent spell of good form as Rochdale currently prop up the rest of the league. Both sides lost their last outings against higher rated teams. MV faced Cltheroe 1st XV and narrowly missed out 24-19 while Rochdale got a bit of a thumping by Oldham 2nd XV 5-45. Still a dry pitch and a bit of sun on their backs should see both teams throwing the ball about and giving it a go.

What else...the Marathon. The decision has been made to not operate a kitchen next week, the minis are at Eccles, I'll take my lot to Broughton, and 30% of people will be stuck.
Wednesday is the minis and juniors committee, 7:30 start - All Coaches and Parents welcome.
Sunday 9th, for those not Away on holiday, Sale Sharks players visit and coaching session. After seeing their recent performances I think we should concentrate on coaching the ruck, speed of pass from the ruck and an effective kicking strategy....... Hang on, they're offering to coach us..?
See you Wednesday and wish the juniors all the best in their games this weekend...
