First visit to the Zeeco
Reds make their longest trek of the season when they travel to meet Stamford at their new Zeeco Stadium (PE9 4QN).
After a glut of home games recently, Reds will now play four away matches in a row with Saturday’s clash at Stamford (3pm) quickly followed by the game at Salford City on Tuesday.
Reds will take the full squad, with one or two reserve players drafted in to cover for injuries sustained in Tuesday’s win over Whitby Town. Resources are a bit stretched this week-end as the Reserves also have a rare Saturday fixture.
Saturday is Non-League Day, and there will be quite a few Workington supporters boosting what Stamford are hoping will be a bigger than average attendance.
The worrying statistic is; Stamford have yet to win a league game at home this season and Reds have an unwanted habit of ending poor runs by the opposition.
Incredibly, their eleven league matches so far have produced no fewer than 69 goals so what price a goalless draw?
