With lots of rugby this weekend both on the pitch and the TV, it is time to get out and support our teams. Otley play Sheffield Tigers at 2:00 at Cross Green and the Saracens are off to Selby to play their seconds.
In addition at 11:15 Otley U16s take on Lutterworth U16s at home. After those two matches, there is the small matter of England v Wales on the big screen and a chance to get warm and have a few drinks.
Otley will be fired up as they go into week 24 of the season, unable to play the other Tigers in the league last weekend - Sedgley. Sheffield Tigers sit two places above Otley in the league and whilst they have played one more game than us, they are just out of reach in terms of league points. A win would further help our position in terms of moving away from the drop zone, remembering that Wharfedale entertain fellow Yorkshiremen Huddersfield at Threshfield.
Although these Tigers have won the same number of away games as Otley, they are coming to us having won only one of their last five games - against Macclesfield up at Dore Moor last weekend. Conversely Otley have only lost two of their last five, and will be looking to avenge their 35-21 defeat last October when our forwards were dominant in the second half but the XV could not convert that pressure into sufficient points.
One word of warning, the Tigers have brought their weather with them from the hills do wrap up against the cold and rain!
Go Otley (and Danny Care)!! - times three!
