SATURDAY 7th JANUARY 2017
TOOLSTATION NCEL DIVISION 1
OLLERTON TOWN V GRIMSBY BOROUGH
KICK OFF 3:00
WIL-LEC sponsored Grimsby Borough travel to Ollerton Town for their first away game of 2017 in the NCEL.
Andy Liddle and Dan Barrett were not happy people after the New Year fixture with Westella and Willerby.
Taking the lead in the dying embers of the match should have seen the Wilderness Boys move up to second in the table but the game over attitude cost them dearly as the visitors snatched a point.
Danny Barrett was very unhappy after the game taking to the Twitter account he said "apologies to everyone that attended the Grimsby Borough game tonight! Very poor excuse of a performance".
The whole club was dissapointed after Tuesday but the Borough style this season is to take it on the chin, dust themselves down and react in the correct manner next game.
It was poor all round v Westella but we are still third in the table and pushing for promotion. We go again on Saturday and put what happened behind us, said a club spokesperson.
Ollerton Town, in their first season in the TOOLSTATION NCEL sit 17th in the table having picked up 25 points from 27 games.
Their New Year fixture saw them come from behind to pick up their first point in four games as they held Teversal to a 1-1 draw away from home.
Borough should be reminded that the opening day victory over Ollerton only came about through a last gasp Jason Flint penalty after Borough had thrown away an early two goal lead.
